{"id":4628,"date":"2018-11-16T12:33:47","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T17:33:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.homerlee.com\/blog\/?p=4628"},"modified":"2018-11-16T12:33:47","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T17:33:47","slug":"peace-be-with-you-roy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.homerlee.com\/showcase\/2018\/11\/16\/peace-be-with-you-roy\/","title":{"rendered":"Peace be with you Roy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The world has lost a wonderful man, at truly great performer, &amp; a dear friend of mine, Mr. Roy Clark. \u00a0He passed away Thursday, November 15th, 2018 due to pneumonia. \u00a0He was 85 years of age. \u00a0What an incredible 85 years it was, married to the same lovely lady for 61 years, several children, &amp; a musical legacy to be envied by all. \u00a0He was beloved by his legions of fans, admired by his peers, &amp; inspired anyone who wanted to play the guitar! \u00a0He was the 1st celebrity to build his own theater here in Branson, MO. \u00a0In October of 1989 the director &amp; producer of Hee Haw came to Branson looking for new faces to be on their TV show. \u00a0 They saw me performing with the Braschler Music Show &amp; also at Silver Dollar City. \u00a0In 24 hours I was hired to be the newest cast member of, at that time, the longest running variety show on TV! \u00a0It ran for a total of 25 years! \u00a0We filmed 13 episodes in 2 weeks! \u00a0It was THE most exciting time of my career to work with these legends, plus all the guest stars! \u00a0Roy remained a true blue friend over the years &amp; even filmed a video &#8220;shout-out&#8221; in my 2015 &#8216;Homer Lee &amp; Friends Variety Show&#8217;!
