Homer Lee
Hey it’s me, Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders! Happy Tuesday! The weather has been amazing with perfect temperatures! I had a great time in Mansfield,MO. last Sunday at the Baker Creek Seed Company appearing as a couple of characters there & entertaining all whom I came in contact with. Monday I finished recorded a CD for a live show that I will do on August 23rd in Wilmington, IL. at 2 PM, I ran home & planted 10 tomato plants, ran my errands, then I was off to Springfield, MO. to tape 3 TV commercials for KOLR-10, the CBS affiliate, & the back to Branson to play ‘Ollie’ in the Shepherd of the Hills play. The BIG air show at the NEW Branson Airport was a major success a couple of weeks ago! I have been so busy with Silver Dollar City & the Shepherd of the Hills play & I’ve been making a lot of personal appearances also! Over the last couple of weeks I had a ball with the ladies of Beta Sigma Phi Chapter Xi Kappa Omicron in Kimberling City, I was on the red carpet as ‘Joan Rivers’ for a PRIVATE party at the Chateau on the Lake! Speaking of Joan, I am so proud of her newest title ‘Celebrity Apprentice’! She won Donald Trump’s TV show. Congratulations Joan! She just sent me the sweetest note a few days ago.
I am thrilled/honored to be celebrating my 30th anniversary with Silver Dollar City & as the newest member of the ‘Image Character’ program at Silver Dollar City for 2009!

Mr M Balmer
They allow me to play multiple roles everyday all over the entire 1800’s theme park everyday! Characters like the ‘W.P. Warburton’ the prison warden, ‘Doc Harris’ a crazy inventor who created the Wild-Fire roller-coaster, ‘Mr. M. Balmer’ the undertaker, ‘Ada Mae’ the world’s ugliest woman, & some new ones that you’ve never seen before! (Neither have I!) One of which is ‘Rufus T. Goldnugget’, he’s a prospector wandering around the park with ‘Jack’, his real live donkey.

Austin and Evan
If you have been to Branson before you have probably seen my hour-long TV show called ‘Branson Country’ on the Vacation Channel! This is my 12th year playing ‘Terry the Tour Guide’. Both of my sons have worked with me in this show. They played ‘Terry the Tour Guide’ trainees & did a wonderful job! As a matter of fact they are in the out-takes of my 25th Anniversary DVD.

It was one year ago today that my inspiration passed away. My beloved Gma Jewell Sanders passed away peacefully in her home on June 9th, 2008. Her daughter (My aunt Loana) & I were with her. She is the one who helped raise me & taught me to be the funny man I am today. Gma Jewell was the inspiration for my ‘Gma Beulah’ character. Gma was not only my Gma, but she was truly my best friend. Words can’t begin to say “Thank you” enough for the outpouring of love & support during this difficult time in my life as well as the rest of my family. Here’s one of my favorite photos of she & I together for a photo shoot for a TV pilot that that I made a couple of years ago. Gma Jewell would have been 88 on June 15th.

So many people have been asking me, “What show are you in this year?” Well, I’m excited to say I play 2 different characters in the ‘Shepherd of the Hills’ play this season!
I portray ‘Doc’ who’s catch phrase is “What would Sarah & the girls say?” & ‘Ollie Stewart’ the ‘city slicker’ driving in the 1907 De Witt!
It is great being in the play since both our sons & my wife Dede work there too! Quality family time… working together!
It is the 9th season for our oldest son, Austin and the 5th season for our youngest son Evan at ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ play. Austin runs the lights & sound there & Evan plays the role of “Little Pete”. They both do a remarkable job!
Not long ago, Evan was cast as the lead in a short feature film entitled ‘Billy’ & it won several awards. Check it out at Billymovie.com to see his work.
The play opens May 1st, for the 2009 season & you can get your reservations by clicking here onto the Shepherd of the Hills play.

Balmer’ the undertaker, ‘Ada Mae’ the world’s ugliest woman, & ‘Ickibod “Icky” the Scarecrow’.

(Branson, MO 02/09) It’s finally official: Silver Dollar City has set the record in The Guinness Book of World Records for the Most Spinning Tops Spun Simultaneously. This record was just officially confirmed as a world record by Guinness.
Event planners are already getting ready for this year’s event. “We’ve set the date for Saturday, August 15, 2009 to break the record again,” said event coordinator Roy Campbell. “The event will be bigger and better than last year with top events all day long throughout the park.”
To participate in the top event, visitors will need to sign in at Silver Dollar City the day of the event. For information on the Top Spinning Event, call 417-338-3886.

The 2008 season was very different for me. The music show business is changing drastically & so this season you would have found me in the Shepherd of the Hills play! I’m still as busy as before, working at Silver Dollar City all day long, the Vacation Channel with my own hour-long TV show called ‘Branson Country’ all year, & the Shepherd of the Hills play at night time 6 nights a week. Not to mention my personal appearances.
Here are some photos from the play of our sons:

Sanders and Sanders at Shepherd of the Hills
In 2002 our youngest son Austin, & I were cast in the play, Austin was ‘Little Pete’ & I was ‘Ollie Stewart’. Click here for The Shepherd of the Hills 2008 schedule. I’ll get to play several characters this season, ‘Ollie’, ‘Doc’ who’s catch-phrase is “What would Sarah & the girls say?”, & a few others.
At Silver Dollar City this 2008 season I became a member of the ‘Image’ Maker’ team playing many characters! One of which is one I started portraying back in 1984, ‘Mr. M. Balmer – the undertaker. Another character is ‘Ada Mae Wheeler’ a character that I played in the Shepherd of the Hills play. ‘Doc Harris’ is a character to fit the theme of Wildfire Roller-coaster. He’s the ‘nut’ who created this wild ride. A new character for me will be ‘W. P. Warburton’ the prison warden from the ‘Flooded Mine’. He will greet you in the mornings as you enter the park with his shotgun in one hand & his trusty bloodhound ‘Miss Georgia’ in the other.

Beatrice ‘Bea’ Hive
Beatrice ‘Bea’ Hive
Remember back to your childhood days going to Sunday school & there was that one Sunday school teacher who stood out. She said one thing but did another, well that’s Bea Hive.
She’s a little on ‘the holier than thou’ side & in the video ‘More of the Best of Homer Lee, Live!’ she has her eyes set on the world famous piano player, Tommy Fairchild, the man who started the Oak Ridge Boys. Tommy stars in this routine with ‘Bea Hive’

Shoji Tabuchi
Shoji Tabuchi
He’s one of Branson’s hottest tickets
on the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway.
Shoji might drop by to liven things up
with his fancy fiddling and in
‘More of the Best of Homer Lee, Live!”
Terry’s version of Shoji does just that!

Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton
The idea behind this skit came to Homer Lee
when the one & only Dolly Parton built her Dixie Stampede in Branson, MO.
In the video ‘The Best of Homer Lee, Live!’
Dolly gets stuck in traffic (In Branson?)
& so Homer Lee has to fill-in her shoes.
He said,
“It’s not the shoes I’m worried about!”

Liver Archie
Liver Archie
Not only does he tickle the ivories
but also he’ll tickle your funny bone!
Only Homer Lee
would try this spoof of a true original, Liberace!
You can see this wonderful impersonation/performance in
