So much is happening here in Branson, MO ~ A new season with so much growth for the city & the area!  This is my 39th season to work/play in the entertainment business & yes, I’ll be back my usual haunts! 

Silver Dollar City!

    

 

Silver Dollar City  is Open!

This is also my 39th year to play multiple characters at Silver Dollar City!  This year they have a new roller-coaster, not just a roller coaster, it is a 1st ~ ANYWHERE!  ‘Time Traveler’!   I’ve created a new character for this incredible attraction so please join me in riding this steampunk-styled adventure!

CJ Newsom’s Classic Country & Comedy Show!

2018 finds me with the AMAZING CJ Newsom in CJ Newsom’s Classic Country & Comedy Show at the Americana Theatre here in Branson, MO!  I’ll be playing a plethora of characters & a then some!  Our show is on Tues., Thurs., & Sun. night at 7:30 PM with alive band & surprises galore!  

The Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company!

This is my 13th season to appear on select days at The Baker Creek Seed Company in Mansfield, MO!  They have a festival the 1st Sun. of every month!  I was there on March 4th & I’ll be there in May!  Join us!

Muscular Dystrophy Association!

Thank you MDA for 13 AMAZING years!

Of course, a very worthy cause that I have been associated with is the MDA ~ the Muscular Dystrophy Association!  I’m in my 13th year with them as well!  They’ve had their ‘Lock-Ups’ for countless years & I’ve gotten to play Barney Fife & take mug shots with the ‘jailbirds’ for 13 years!  The world is ever-changing & so is the MDA.  The MDA has decided to discontinue the ‘Lock-Ups’.  My sincere thanks to the MDA & Mr. Jerry Bear, the executive director for 40 years of the Springfield, MO chapter, for allowing me to be a part of this fight to find cures, save lives, as well as help families in time of need.  I will miss this very, very much!  Here I am in Silver Dollar City’s Echo Hollow with over 4,000 people raising money for the MDA!  That is Mr. Jerry Bear, the executive director of the Springfield, MO chapter, watching me as ‘Barney’ talking with these amazing people!

Big Cedar Lodge!

Another wonderful place to stay & enjoy is Big Cedar Lodge just south of Branson, MO.  I’ve been performing there for 13 years too!  They have me scheduled for MANY of their event this season.  As a matter of fact, Sat., March 31st I’ll be playing Richard Simmers hosting their ‘Bunny Hop 5-K run’ as Richard Simmons!

Fabulous February is here & it has been fabulous!  Normally here in Branson things are slow, even quiet, but not  this year!  Jan. 19th I hit the road with Spoken 4 Quartet & traveled to Galveston, TX where we boarded Carnival Cruise ship ‘Breeze’!  We had 4 shows in 7 days with ports of call in Cozumel, Belize, & Honduras!  Even Gma Beulah played tourist on the beaches of Mahogany Bay, Roatan Honduras!

    

The second we disembarked the ship in Galveston, I was in an Uber & on my to Houston, TX. to board a plane & fly to Charlotte, N.C..  There I joined CJ & Chris Newsom for the ABA ~ American Bus Association convention to invite them to bring their tour coaches to see CJ Newsom’s Classic Country & Comedy show (Formerly known as Classic Country’s Patsy Cline & Friends show)!  It was a major success & then we took our time driving back to Branson!

We made stops in Asheville, N.C. to visit the Biltmore Estate…

 

 Then Pigeon Forge to take a private tour of Dollywood… 

Next was Nashville to see the Grand Ole Opry!  It had been 29 years since I was in the Opryland studios, this is where I filmed 13 episodes of ‘Hee Haw’ the fall of 1989!  We visited the Patsy Cline museum where we were honored to meet & visit with Julie Fudge ~ Patsy’s daughter!

After a long trip in snow & icy roads on Sunday, we hit the ground running on Monday!  CJ & I (As Barney Fife) were celebrity judges for the annual MOB ‘Soup-er Bowl’ where we taste-tested/judged 34 bowls of soup!

Friday & Saturday, Feb. 9th & 10th, CJ & I appeared at the Liberty Theatre in Hartshorne, OK. for their annual Valentine’s Day dinner & show at 6:30 PM on both Friday & Saturday night!  Sunday morning we left McAllister, OK & headed to Cushing, OK. where we made an appearance at the First Church of God at 10:30 AM!  A great time was had by all & thanks to Pastor Kevin Clouse for allowing us to do the service with song, testimony, & humor too!

Feb. 14th ~ Valentine’s Day

I hosted Big Cedar’s ‘Not So Newlywed Game’ as ‘Joan of the Ozarks’.

Thursday, Feb. 15th

I played Barney Fife’ for our 1st MDA ‘Lock-Up’ of 2018 at the Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett, MO. 10 AM – 3 PM & we had a GREAT time, plus the ‘jail-birds raised more bail money than ever before!  “Thank you!” Monett, MO.!

 

Fri., Feb. 16th

I was ‘Terry the Tour Guide’ from the Vacation Channel for the Annual Builders Show at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson.

 

Sat., Feb. 17th

I was in Kansas City for ‘Planet-con’ with my son Austin ~ we saw several stars, John Cusack, Alice Cooper, & Danny Trejo!  

Sat. Feb. 17th

I was back at Big Cedar Lodge for another fun-filled evening hosting ‘The Not So Newlywed Game’ as ‘Joan of the Ozarks’ again!

 

 

Sat., Feb. 24th we have orientation for Silver Dollar City’s 2018 season ~ We open on Thurs., March 14th!  I have never been bored!

Happy New Year!  

2017 is but a memory now!

I can’t believe 2017 is over & here we are, but we are!  I worked at Silver Dollar City on Jan. 1st, 2018!  This year we were open on Mon., Jan. 1st as well as Dec. 31st, New Year’s Eve, 2017!  I will sleep on Tuesday!  LOL!  

BIG Changes…

Big changes happen every season here in Branson, & we will have some for our show!  CJ Newsom has done her ‘Classic Country’s Patsy Cline & Friends Show’ in Branson for 5 full seasons!  She is changing the name for a broader demographic to;

‘CJ Newsom’s Classic Country & Comedy’

She will continue to do ALL of Patsy’s hit songs, plus we’ve added 2 new performers, Ashley Jo Sheilds and Michael Frost will add depth and pizazz. From great duets to wonderful dancing!

Come Sail With Me…

I have a little ‘down time’, but I will leave for Galveston, TX. with the Spoken 4 Quartet on Jan. 21st & we depart on our Gospel Cruise aboard Carnival’s ‘Breeze’ to Belize, Honduras, & Cozumel!  We return to port on Jan. 28th & I will get a Uber ride to Houston & then fly to Charlotte, N.C. to attend the American Buss Association (ABA) convention for 3 days!  then slowly head back to Branson!

I have never been bored!

This is my 38th season to perform in this lovely town & throughout the midwest!  I want to wish you & yours a very Merry Christmas & a Happy & prosperous New Year ~ 2018!

You can find me in my 38th season entertaining at Silver Dollar City ~ Right now I’m playing ‘Clarence Peabody’ Santa’s helper every day they are open until Dec. 23rd (Our last day with Santa).  Dec. 26th – Jan. 1st I’ll be taking care of the wonderful folks who want to ride the Frisco Silver Dollar Rail Line sing-along steam train!

This is my 2nd year to be the comedian in ‘Classic Country’s Patsy Cline & Friends Show at the Americana Theatre every Tues., Thurs., & Sun. night at 7:30 PM right here in Branson!  Our last regular show is Thurs., Dec. 14th.

BIG NEWS…

We will host the Americana Theatre’s New Year’s Eve party/celebration/show with yours truly emceeing this extravaganza!  Our festivities start with dinner catered by Shorty Small’s Restaurant, the big blow-out begins at 9 PM & ends a little after midnight!  We will feature CJ Newsom the star of her own show, ‘Classic Country’s Patsy Cline & Friends’, Billy Yates award winning singer/songwriter who stars in ‘Raiding the Country Vault’, Nedgra Culp who stars in Legends In Concert, & Janice Martin who has her own show ‘Janice Martin’s Cirque Show’.  She was featured on America’s Got Talent!

No way… It’s November!  I can’t believe how quickly our season here in Branson has gone by!  Christmas is in the air even though today is Thanksgiving ~ such is the way of the world.

Warburton’ ~ the warden, ‘Ickibod’ (Icky) ~ the scarecrow, ‘Colonel Paisley Alowishus Parnell’ ~ the banker, ‘Mr. M. Balmer’ ~ the undertaker, & ‘Doc Horacio Harris’ ~ the inventor of the Wild Fire Roller-Coaster!  I am there 5 days a week ~ the same days they are open, Wed.-Sun..

 

 

 

 

 

 

I am loving my 2nd year to be the comedian in ‘Classic Country’s Patsy Cline & Friends‘ show at the Americana Theatre with C.J. Newsom!  Pure classic country music, a live band ~ the Re-Cliners, & great fun!  Our show is at 7:30 PM every Tues., Thurs., & Sun. night!  I do my comedy pre-show at 7:15!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For 12 years in a row I have entertained the guests who stay at Big Cedar Lodge!  This season I host a campfire, s’mores’, & storytelling event every Fri. & Sat. night 6-7 PM.  On Sat. mornings in Oct. Silver Dollar City had their Gospel Picnic.  I made an appearance in their Echo Hollow theater Fri., Sept. 1st & Sat. Sept. 2nd night as ‘Barney Fife’ for the MDA ‘Pass the Boot’ it was a standing room only crowd for there Booth Brothers & EVERYONE dug deep & donated to this worthy cause!  We raised over $16,000.00!

Yes, this is my 12th season to perform at Big Cedar Lodge.  Every Saturday in Sept. & Oct. I host a campfire with s’mores & tell stories about the area, ghosts at Big Cedar & Johnny Morris!  

Gma Beulah Gospel Co-host!

Sat., Sept. 16th after 8 & 1/2 hours at Silver Dollar City playing 5 characters, then changing into Barney Fife & going to Big Cedar Lodge for my campfire with s’mores, & storytelling, I ran back to Branson & changed costumes again & I played ‘Gma Beulah’ co-hosting with Sherrie Brewster the ‘Branson Gospel Singers & Songwriters Association Awards Show’ here in Branson!  A great time was had by all!

Yes, jump into June!  This season is is zipping right along & Branson is booming too!  This is my 38th season to be a performer here in Branson & I love it.  You can find me all over the place, of course this is my 38th season to work at Silver Dollar City as 1 of the Image Characters ~ I play 4 characters a day over the entire 66 acre park 5 days a week!

Rumor Control…

As many of you know or may not know…  The Shepherd of the Hills Homestead was foreclosed by the bank last month.  A new investor has come to the bank & wants to re-open the entire property!  This means they want it ALL to resume business. When will this happen?  Only time will tell & we pray they will take the opportunity to make it better than ever for generations to come!  Stay tuned & I will let you know the FULL story right here at Homerlee.com!
