Happy October!

10.01.10

Happy October!  It’s me, Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders here in Branson, MO.  I can’t believe we’re this close to the end of 2010 & I’ve never been this busy!

Chocolate Extravaganza!

I had the time of my life Thursday, October 28th, hosting ‘Chocolate Extravaganza‘ at the Radisson Hotel from 6:30 PM – 8 PM as ‘Homer Lee’!  This was a fundraiser for the Dream Team of Hospice Compassus. The Dream Team helps facilitate “end of life” wishes for Hospice patients. There will be vendors, a chocolate contest, chocolate samples, a silent auction & lots of entertainment. ALL proceeds went to the Dream Team. Contact Ginger Harrison at Hospice Compassus (417-335-2280) if you would like to support this great cause!

Trunk or Treat at Faith Lutheran Church in Branson, MO.

“Trunk or Treat’ at the Faith Lutheran last Sunday night, the 24th, went over EXTREMELY well!  I played ‘Homer Lee’ – hosting this annual event for the 4th year in a row!  Great weather & a great crowd!  I can’t wait until next year!

Lloyd Presley 1924-2010

Our sympathies to the Presley family in the loss of Mr. Lloyd Presley.  The Music City is in mourning as a Branson legend passes away.  Family members say Lloyd Presley died around 4:30 PM on Saturday, October 23rd.  He was 86 years old and battled Alzheimer’s disease.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Tri-Lakes Center on Highway 248 in Branson. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m., also at the Tri-Lakes Center, with burial at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to Skaggs Medical Center Foundation.

This is my 31st season as a comedic personality performing day & night ALL over Branson as well as personal appearances everywhere else!

Party With the Stars!

I had a GREAT time playing ‘Joan Rivers’ on the red carpet, Saturday, October 2nd at the Chateau on the Lake at 9 PM for ‘Party With the Stars’  It was open to the public & everyone had a grand time.  Here’s a photo of me with Jewel & Nevelle.

I’m in my 31st year at Silver Dollar City – I play 5 characters a day there over the entire 56 acre 1800s theme park!

This is the final month for their ‘Fall Harvest Craft Festival’ & what a tremendous festival it has been!  It’s SDC’s 50 anniversary so, if you were born in 1960 or married in 1960 you get a FREE season pass!  Just bring proof of said occasions & ta-da…  You get in FREE!  You can’t buy FREE!

Here’s who you might see me playing there this merry month of October…

Ickibod 'Icky' the scarecrow

'W. P. Warburton' the prison warden

'Colonel Paisley Parnell'

'Doc Harris'

'Mr. M. Balmer' - undertaker

What a way to make a living huh?

Of course this is my DAYTIME job – 5 days a week Wednesday – Sunday but…

6 nights a week, Monday – Saturday, I am in The Shepherd of the Hills play where I perform as 2 different characters.  The play is now closed for the 2010 season but, I plan on being there next year!

That’s right, I play ‘Doc’ & ‘Ollie’ in America’s largest outdoor drama, ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ play!  It’s a family affair because, my wife & our 2 sons also work there.  The last performance for 2010 was Saturday, October 23rd.  This show is HOT!

Don’t forget about their newest attraction at the Shepherd of the Hills homestead, ‘Vigilante’ a zip-rider from Inspiration Tower!  I love it & you will too!

I’m in rehearsals right now for Big Cedar’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony called ‘Catch The Spirit’ & I’m producing & staring in a Christmas murder mystery that you can enjoy at Big Cedar as well!

I’ll be back NEXT year at Big Cedar as ‘Deputy Birdie Tweedle’ hosting an hour-long campfire wagon ride too!

Don’t forget if you missed seeing the new documentary, ‘Joan Rivers – A Piece Of Work’ that was released in theatres this summer, it will soon be out in DVD & yes, I’m in it!  I met with Joan 1 year ago last February when they were filming her.  This film is rated R due to strong language but, what a revealing look into the life of the hardest working person I have ever known.

Joan signed, "Dear Terry - Great to see you again - Joan Rivers"

Thanks for dropping in & I really do look forward to seeing you here in Branson!  I appreciate all of you being such a wonderful support group for me & my family over these 31 years.

God bless you, God bless our troops/members of the armed services, & God bless America!

Always, your buddy,

Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders
